The New Tourist Bus Line between Sofia and Vitosha

Sofia is one of the few European capitals with such a direct access to a huge mountain as Vitosha. However, the local government still cannot decide what to do with it – to isolate Vitosha from the citizens, to overbuild it or to integrate it into the strategy for turning Sofia into the long promised European Green Capital.

Until then our capital will be a proud owner of another title – European Sports Capital 2018 which would include promoting all available resources for an active and healthy lifestyle. The Vitosha mountain has a pivotal role for this. The problem is that the transportation to it is extremely poor – few bus lines, too extended schedules, old vehicles, no conditions for bikes, poor bus lines information. That’s why we have a project for reviving one of the forgotten bus lines A61

Peter Munnery is born in Sofia. He graduated from the National High School of Mathematics and Science. From a young age he is interested in the ways the transport in the city operates. Currently he is studying Logistics and Transport Management in Aston University – Birmingham.
